Adeeb appointed Acting Minister of Defence

Minister of Tourism Ahmed Adeeb has been appointed as Acting Minister of Defence, while Minister of Defence Mohamed Nazim is abroad on a private trip.

This has been confirmed to Sun Online by Spokesperson for the President’s Office Ibrahim Muaz Ali.

When asked when Nazim would return, Muaz said that it was not possible to reveal this information as it was a private visit.

Aviation Security, Disaster Management Centre, and Department of Immigration and Emigration are operated under Minister of Defence.

Nazim is also presently the Acting Minister of Health.

It is normal practice to appoint acting ministers to ministries when ministers travel abroad.
