Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Saudi has said that youth getting caught up in drugs and violence obstructs the country’s development.
Saudi made this remark at a ceremony in Kaafu Kaashidhoo on Saturday, to inaugurate the Blues for Youth camp.
He expressed sadness over the dangers faced by the country as a result of young people being addicted to drugs and violence, and said that the purpose of the Blues for Youth camp was to instil discipline and keep youth away from such activities.
The six-day camp is attended by 36 youth, made up of 13 girls and 23 boys.
The camp includes programs aimed at encouraging discipline, unity, and national spirit.
This is the tenth Blues for Youth camp organised by Maldives Police Service. The most recent one was held in Fuvahmulah.
