Man arrested with stolen laptop, jewellery

A 36-year-old Maldivian man has been arrested with a laptop and jewellery, believed to be stolen.

Police said that the man was arrested at 4:45 p.m. on Saturday by patrol police officers of Maafannu Police Station.

The man was taken into custody following suspicious behaviour, said police, and officers found a laptop, two chargers and jewellery in a bag in his possession.

Police said that the man, who has a crime history for theft, had been questioned on 11 occasions before, taken to the police station four times, and arrested once.

The case is under investigation.
