Man arrested for stealing iPad

Police have arrested a 30-year-old man who stole and iPad and attempted to flee the scene.

The suspect was arrested by Male’ patrol police at 9:15 a.m. near Miriyas Magu, after he was stopped and searched following suspicious behaviour.

Police found a stolen iPad in his possession.

The suspect had been stopped and searched 47 times on previous occasions, said police, taken to the police station nine times, and arrested three times.

The case is under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Maldives Police Service.
