Vishal, who has alleged links with Artur brothers, charged with fraud

Ahmed Vishal, H. Ever Chance, Male’, who allegedly has links with Artur brothers, and another individual have been charged with fraud.

Vishal has been accused by the plaintiff of taking a large sum of money from him in exchange for a car, which was never delivered.

Artur brothers, from Armenia, have been accused of drug trafficking and other illegal activities in different countries around the world.

The other suspect involved in the case is Ali Misbah, Mehuraa, Raa Innamaadhoo.

The pair has been accused of defrauding Mohamed Shafeeg, Happy Night, Kaafu Huraa, of MVR 80,000 in exchange for a car in May 2013.

The charge, pressed by the state, states that an agreement was made regarding the sale of a car to Shafeeg, in the name of a company in which Vishal held shares. The agreement was signed by Misbah, who was named as Vishal’s partner in the company, and the pair collected MVR 80,000 as down payment for the car from Shafeeg.

Out of the two suspects, only Misbah was present at the hearing at Criminal Court yesterday. He requested for the chance to appoint a lawyer.

The judge accepted Misbah’s request to appoint a lawyer before adjourning the hearing.
