Police warn against messages requesting Twitter password reset

The police have called on everyone to be aware of Twitter direct messages and SMS’s requesting users to change their Twitter passwords.

Police said that the link provided in these messages redirects the user to a website that looks like Twitter, and the information - including passwords - entered on this website is used by hackers, to tweet and send direct messages from people’s accounts without their knowledge.

This warning comes after the Twitter account of Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed was hacked two days ago.
