Home Ministry has opened for re-registration of Media registered in Maldives.
An announcement released by Home Ministry on Sunday have requested to send copies of registered Magazines published within the last six months to the Ministry before 2:00 p.m. on 20 January 2015 and to provide website address and evidence of publications of Daily News, Online News and Magazines in written form before that date.
Detailed information of the Founder and the Editor of the registered media and copies of publications released within the last six months have to be submitted to the Ministry when applying for re-registration. Criminal Records of the Founder and the Editor have to be provided if they have been changed. In case of re-registration of TV and Radio, evidence of Telecasting programs and a Revenue Stamp of MVR 25 have to be submitted.
Ministry has said that re-registration has been opened for a second time upon request and that, registration of those who fail to apply for re-registration before 20 January 2015 would be canceled as stated in article 29 of Media Act.
