Rasheed Carpentry and Construction Company (RCNC) has started a program to clear the drainage systems in Male’.
Manager of RCNC Ismail Shahid on Tuesday said to Sun Online that one of the biggest issues faced to Male’ is flooding in roads. For that reason, Shahid stated that they have thought about how they can help to resolve the issue and has started to clear some of the drainage systems on Tuesday.
Shaid said that 30 staff of that company has participated in the program and that drainage systems in Knabaa Aisarani Hingun from the West Park Restaurant to Majeedhee Magu would be cleaned on Tuesday.
“This program would be carried out as a series. It is difficult to state the exact days in which the work will be done” said Shahid.
Before starting the program, they have identified roads that flood most in Male’ by discussing with related Ministries, said Shahid.
Government has on 10 November started on-site work of improving roads in Male’ in order to solve the problem of flooding.
Government has assigned the responsibility of clearing and maintaining the drainage systems of Male’ roads to Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) until the problem of flooding is resolved permanently.
