Speaker of the Parliament meets with Committee Speakers

Speaker of the parliament, Hon. Abdulla Shahid last night met with the speakers of the parliament committees and their deputies. In the meeting speaker requested for the support of the parliament committees in order to speed up the works of the parliament.

In a press release last night by the parliament, the speaker says that setting the goals of the committees, working towards to achieve them and to complete the works assigned without wasting time are responsibilities of the committees, and to give media briefing on committee works is a responsibility of the committee speaker.

The secretariat says that last night a list of problems in the committees is handed over to the speakers. Speakers asked the secretariat for more technical support in order to speed up the works.
