Majority of Z-PA members voted in favor of investigation

Most of the MPs of Z-PA coalition voted in favor of the motion asking to investigate the alleged US$800 million worth illegal oil business ran by PA leader Abdulla Yameen Abdul Qayoom, and his brother former president Maumoon Abdul Qayyoom.

In the parliamentary session yesterday, 52 among 67 members voted in favor of investigating the matter, while 11 MPs opposed.

MP Ilham Ahmed, MP Hamdhoon Hameed, MP Ali Arif, MP Yousuf Naeem MP Dr. Afrasheem Ali, members of DRP Z-Faction which is in coalition with Abdulla Yameen’s PA voted in favor of the motion. Members of Yameen’s own party also voted in favor. But Ahmed Thasmeen Ali, leader of DRP voted against the motion.
