MP Riyaz Rasheed: Maldives to lose Sovereignty due to Government Policies

“At last the Maldives will fall under Indian rule and will lose independence and sovereignty, due to the current government’s policies,” MP Riyaz Rasheed of Vilufushi constituency said today speaking in the parliament.

Speaking on today’s bill put forward in the parliament by the government, MP Riyaz Rasheed said that the Maldives has lost its sovereignty to India since the current government came into power. He also said that Maldives does not have to be sold to Indian government.

“A big land area has been given to Indian government to build the embassy since Indians have agreed to buy MPs for ruling party, MDP. I am saying this without any fear. After few days Maldives will be a small town of India. Our identity will be razed; the whole country will be under Indian rule and at last will be slaves of India. Airport is given. All the lands are given. We don’t have to be sold to India,” said MP Riyaz Rasheed.
