Cargo Boat runs aground on Thilafushi Reef

A cargo boat has run aground on the reef on the Southern East side reef of Thilafushi. The cargo ship is a 71-meter long ship that is registered in Dominica.

According to MNDF, efforts of the owner of the boat with MNDF Coastguard were ongoing to get a tug to refloat the boat. The cargo boat has run aground after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
