Fire at MWSC controlled

Fire occurred at Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) generator has been controlled.

Fire has been caught in panel board and its cables connected to the generator placed at the compound of the building to provide electricity to a water plant.

An Official of MWSC said that fire has been controlled and damages occurred due to fire were being checked. According to him, serious damages to the company might have occurred and that the materials to recover those damages would be available in the stock.

No one suffered from any injuries in that incident.

The incident occurred at around 2:00pm and was controlled by the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service at around 3:30pm.

Official of MWSC said that however they don’t know the exact time to provide the service, their assumption is to provide water within two hours.

He added that they were trying to get the electricity required to provide water facility to public with the help of State Electric Company (STELCO)
