Special discount card introduced for people with special needs

A special discount card has been introduced to people with special needs in order to help those people under the program “Dharumaverivaashey”.

First Lady of Maldives introduced the card in a ceremony held to celebrate International Day of Persons with Disability at Kalaafaanu School on Wednesday.

Discounts will be received from 17 shops by using the card introduced under “Dharumaverivaashey”.

First Lady inaugurated another special card which can be used to receive services from places to people with special needs in an easier way. Health and Transport services can be received by using that special card made by Ministry of Law and Gender.

Maldivian has started a program in the name of “Eheetheriyaa” that was also inaugurated on Wednesday by First Lady. In this program, Maldivian has decided to provide a discount of 15 percent from tickets purchased by people with special needs.

At the ceremony, President Yameen presented letters of employment to ?people with special needs, offered by state-owned companies. In this regard, ??ten individuals were offered employment from State Trading Organisation ?? (STO), State Electric Company (STELCO), Thilafushi Corporation, and the ?Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

Apart from this, Ambassadors in the name of “Goodwill Ambassadors” have been selected to help people with special needs. Attorney General Ahmed Anil presented the official badges and certificates ?for the Ambassadors.
