President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom has reiterated on Saturday that Maldives always supports for the establishment of a Palestinian State.
President Yameen stated this in a message sent on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
In president’s message, it was stated that, Maldives fully supports the Palestine’s efforts to establish statehood, and urged the rest of the world to enable the Palestinian people to exercise their right to self-determination and establish an independent state of Palestine. He noted that Maldivians hope to see a future where Palestine emerges as a State with full recognition from the United Nations.
President condemned Israel’s systematic violation of human rights, in his message and stated that the rights of the Palestinians are embraced by the Maldives as a national foreign policy priority.
President has also noted that as a responsible member of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the Maldives will continue to vociferously advocate the cause of Palestine, in his message, and president assured that all Maldivians stand united as one in support of the brotherly people of Palestine.
