Councilors trained aiming to increase women

Certificates have been awarded to the participants of the workshop organized by “Hope for Women” to increase the women’s participation in political field of Maldives.

Certificates were awarded by the Mayor of Male’ City Mohamed Shihab in an event held at State Electric Company (STELCO).

The three days’ workshop was designed for women members of Atoll and Island Councils aiming to train the councilors on leadership and on participation in political fields.

Speaking in the event, Male’ City Mayor requested the participants to encourage other women in their islands to involve in political field.

Addressing in the event, Rashidha Yoosuf, Vice President of “Hope for Women” said that the purpose of the workshop was to increase women’s participation in the political filed and she requested the participants to practice what they have learnt in the workshop after going back to their islands.

Rashidha Yoosuf requested the participants to be role model in their islands without any hesitations.

Nine members from island councils and two members from atoll councils participated in this workshop.
