The President’s nomination for the post of Auditor General has been sent to the Independent Institutions Committee for evaluation.

The President’s nomination for this post is Hassan Ziyath.

Hassan Ziyath, a chartered accountant, has served in this field for 14 years. He is currently the Chairperson of Housing Development Corporation (HDC).

A recent amendment to the Audit Act stated that the President should nominate an individual for the post of Auditor General and send the name to the parliament for approval, within 30 days from the day the bill is ratified.
