MTV India presenter to co-host Maldives Travel Awards 2014

MTV India presenter Nikhil Chinapa is set to arrive in the Maldives to co-host the most prestigious award event for the Maldivian tourism sector, the Maldives Travel Awards 2014.

Nikhil will co-host the event, to be held at Kurumba Maldives on Friday, with local presenter Maryam Waheeda.

Nikhil was the VJ of one of the most famous shows by MTV in late 90s, MTV Select. He was a judge in the show Fame X in 2006, and has also hosted two seasons of India’s Got Talent.

The Maldives Travel Awards was introduced by Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) in 2012. This year, awards will be presented in over 23 categories, including Aviation and transport, Resort, Hotel, Guest-house, Wellness, Liveboard, Diving, and Surfing.

The main sponsor for event is Ibrahim Nasir International Airport, while co-sponsors include Allied Insurance, Philips (by State Trading Organisation), The Hawks, and Flyme.

The event’s association partners are White Shade and Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA), and its media partners are Maldives Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) Online, Sun Online, Asian Geographic Passport, Asian Diver, Scuba Diver Australia, Floating Asia, Visiting Guide, and maldives.net.mv. The beverage partners are Bonaqua and Coca Cola, while the technology partner is Semicolon.
