Alifushi boat refloated after seven hours

A boat that ran aground while travelling from Raa Alifushi en route to Male’ at around 11:00 p.m. last night, has been refloated.

The spokesperson for Alifushi Council told Sun Online that the boat ran aground on Boduhithi reef near Reethi Rah Resort, and that it had been refloated using a tugboat.

He said that the boat was now on its way to Male’, and no one was hurt in the incident.

The boat also did not suffer much damage in the incident, said the spokesperson.

When asked how many people were on-board at that time, he said that he did not know the exact number of people, but there could not have been many people, and no one was hurt.

Alifushi Online said that the boat ran aground during its first trip after a break of two months for engine repairs.
