A new dialysis centre has been established at state hospital, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
The dialysis centre was inaugurated at a ceremony at IGMH today, by Minister of Defence and Acting Minister of Health Mohamed Nazim.
The new dialysis centre, equipped with 20 dialysis machines, is located in the building on the right of Gate 1, on Kanbaa Aisaarani Hingun, of IGMH.
IGMH said that unlike the old dialysis machines at the hospital, the new machines were built using modern technology.
Nazim announced at the ceremony that although the centre was inaugurated as Dialysis Centre today, the President had decided that the name would be changed to Dr Ahmed Raazee Memorial Dialysis Centre later.
Nazim said that the government’s aim is to establish more similar centres, to ensure the provision of quality health services to the public.
IGMH has announced that the new dialysis centre would be open every day except Friday from morning until 1:30 a.m., and emergency dialysis service would be available even on Friday.
