The government of China has provided 200 trash cans to the Maldives.
The agreement in this regard was signed at a ceremony at the Ministry of Environment today, by Deputy Minister of Environment Ali Amir, and Deputy Ambassador of China to Maldives Liu Jiyang.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ali Amir noted that the price of the 200 trash cans exceeds MVR 500,000, and thanked the Chinese government. He said that the trash cans would be used for waste management, a serious environmental problem faced by Maldives.
