Russian Prosecutor General arrives in Maldives

Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika has arrived in Maldives on Wednesday evening on an invitation of Prosecutor General’s Office.

Russian Prosecutor General Yury Chaika would meet Muhthaz Muhsin, Prosecutor General of Maldives on Thursday at Traders Hotel. After that Yury would meet President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayyoom and Attorney General Mohamed Anil.

Prosecutor General Muhthaz Muhsin said to Sun Online on Wednesday evening that the main purpose of Yury’s visit to Maldives was to strengthen relations in the area of prosecution of both countries.

In that regard, Muhthaz said that an MoU would be signed on Thursday and it would facilitate training opportunities for prosecutors and Russian prosecutors to practice in Maldives.

Muthaz noted that Ahmed Muiz planned it when he was in Prosecutor General post.

Yury is the Deputy Prime Minister as well as Justice Minister of Russia. In Russia, Prosecutor General prosecutes Criminal and Civil cases also.
