Man hiding in car in this morning

A man who was hiding in the car that crashed into Fahamas on Majeedee Magu this morning, has been arrested.

The police spokesperson said that the man was discovered when he looked out of the rear window of car, while efforts were ongoing to remove the car from the shop using a forklift.

Police have also arrested two more people in relation to this accident, which was reported at 6:44 a.m.

Three parked motorcycles were damaged beyond use in the accident, as they were dragged into the shop with the car. Serious damage was also caused to three additional motorcycles parked in the area.

The accident also caused serious damage to Fahamas building, as well as several goods on sale in the shop.

The case is under investigation by the Traffic Police Department of the Maldives Police Service.
