Nasheed thanks Home Minister for request to investigate alleged police involvement in cutting down trees

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has thanked Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer, for requesting the Police Integrity Commission (PIC) to investigate whether there was any involvement by police officers in cutting down the trees on Majeedee Magu.

Nasheed thanked Umar Naseer on Twitter last night, for his “request from PIC to investigate police involvement in the crimes in Male’ by armed, masked men”.

Umar Naseer mentioned on Twitter yesterday, that he had made this request from PIC.

Will investigate RNasheed's claim. Yesterday I've asked PIC to investigate that. Govt will NOT hide any wrong doing by Police, if any.

In a separate tweet, he said that he has also asked police executives to assist the PIC in their investigation.

I've also asked all Police Executives to asst PIC in their investigation. This govt will NOT ask Police/MNDF to carryout anything unlawful.
