Rilwan’s family said that Umar Naseer, Home Minister has given 90 percent assurance for journalist of Minivan News Rilwan Abdulla who went missing being alive, and has said that he was sure that Rilwan would be found.
It has been 60 days since Rilwan went missing and his family members have written for an appointment with the Home Minister on Sunday. Home Minister has met Rilwan’s two sisters and father as requested by the family.
Giving information to Sun Online about that meeting, Shehenaz Abdulla, Rilwan’s sister said on Monday evening that according to Minister, search operation to find Rilwan was ongoing and it would go like that without taking even a single break. She noted that Minister was very sure to find Rilwan.
“When family asked for the assurance of Rilwan being alive, Minister said that he has 90 percent sure that Rilwan is not dead, and Minister said that he was sure that Rilwan would be found alive,” said Shehenaz.
According to Rilwan’s sister, when family asked for justification of that much assurance, Minister said that if he was murdered, at least some evidence to support that would have been seen to police, but Minister said that they have not got any evidence of that kind yet.
Police have searched places in Male’, Hulhumale’, Vilingili and some inhabited and uninhabited islands in the search operation ongoing to find Rilwan, and Hulhumale’ sea has been searched in collaboration of coastguard. However, no information or a sign of him have been found yet.
Four suspects were arrested regarding Rilwan’s disappearance, and the court has released three people. Court has issued detention extension for the fourth time for the person who is in police custody.
