Foreigners notified to submit exit permit prior to departure

Department of Immigration and Emigration has notified foreign workers to submit exit permit forms issued by their employers, before departing from Maldives permanently or for holidays.

Immigration Department said on Thursday that the form should be submitted to the Airport Immigration, and this decision was made to ensure that the foreign employee is travelling with permission of the employer.

“The aim is to minimize the loss to the employer when their employee leaves without informing him,” said Immigration Department .

The department also said that the exit permit form which has to be submitted to Airport Immigration from 19th October 2014 could be downloaded from the Immigration Department website.
