Case against three suspects involved in Rakeedhoo safe theft forwarded for prosecution

The case against three people accused of stealing more than MVR 1 million from the safe in Vaavu Rakeedhoo council office have been forwarded to Prosecutor General’s (PG) office for prosecution.

Sun Online has come to know that the case was sent to PG office on 30 September 2014.

Police have found MVR 1,071,500 so far, from the searches conducted regarding the incident of money being stolen from Rakeedhoo council on 26 June 2014. However, it is not clear if this is the total amount of money stolen.

Though four people were arrested concerning the case initially, one person was released. Hence, no case was forwarded to PG office against him.
