Maldivian goes missing in Sri Lanka

Police have started a search operation for a Maldivian who went missing while in Sri Lanka for medical treatment.

Sun Online has come to know that the missing person is Ahmed Shimhaadh of Baa Eydhafushi.

Police media official said that family filed a missing person’s report on Sunday and police have initiated search operation.

However, police did not mention the date on which the person went abroad.

Sun Online came to know that Shimhaadh, who lives in his island with family, went Sri Lanka last Wednesday afternoon, and he did not inform his family about his trip to Sri Lanka.

Family came to know he was in Sri Lanka after he called a friend and asked the friend to inform his younger sibling that he was in Sri Lanka. But his family reported the case to police when they did not hear from him.
