Case filed to cancel scoring procedure for category one of housing program

A case has been filed to Civil Court to cancel the scoring procedure for category one of Government’s housing program “Gedhoruverikurun”.

An official of Civil Court said that court has accepted and started trial of the case brought by Salmaa Ali of G. Reynis. The next hearing on this case has been scheduled for 12 October.

Category one relates to the people in Male’ Municipality Special Register (Dhaftharu), and those who own less than 600 square feet land area from Male’.

Salmaa said that she has owns a land area of 404 square feet in Male', where a five-story building has been constructed. She said in the court that Housing Ministry rejected her form after saying that the total floor area of her house is more than 600 square feet.

Housing Ministry said that 440 out of 1,100 flats in Hulhumale’ under “Gedhoruverikurun” program are for category one, and 3,597 category one forms have been submitted by the first of this month.
