AG Office announces JSC election for lawyers

Attorney General Office (AG) has announced that the election of member to Judicial Service Commission (JSC) among lawyers will be held on Thursday 30 October 2014.

In the announcement publicised today, AG office said that the election after the voting guideline was changed by the Supreme Court will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on 30 October.

AG has invited those lawyers who are interested to become the member to submit their forms from today onwards till 16 October. It was stated in the announcement that the forms will be received from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

AG office said that the candidates who meet the qualifications and requirements stated in the guideline for electing a member for JSC from the lawyer can participate in the election.

AG Office said that a lawyer who has been a member of JSC for five years cannot participate in the election.
