MIRA conducts information session on tax

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has conducted an information session in collaboration with Maldives National University (MNU), on taxation and tax procedures.

The session that at the MNU campus on Sosun Magu, was conducted by expert in the field of tax systems in various countries, Professor Dr Kevin Holmes.

The Marketing and Public Relations Manager of MIRA Ali Riyaz said that as tax is interrelated to the lives of Maldivians, the subject of taxation will be covered extensively. He said that this session will benefit tax payers and businessmen as well as students.

“Tax has become a very important part of our lives. So this information will be useful for all. This session will benefit all participants with in-depth information,” Riyaz said.

He said that this session is an initiative of MIRA and that they would be conducting sessions once every month.
