Tourist involved in accident sent to Sri Lanka

The Chinese tourist, who got injured in an accident in Male’ yesterday, has been sent to Sri Lanka for treatment.

Managing director of ADK hospital, Ahmed Affaal, informed Sun that the 50-year-old was sent to Sri Lanka last night, as advised by doctors because treatment could not be continued in Male’.

He also said that the accident cracked his skull and there also was hemorrhage inside the skull.

“He was sent abroad because he had internal bleeding in addition to skull fracture which we cannot treat here for,” Affaal said.

The accident took place around 2:45pm when a speeding motor cycle heading west on Medhuziyaraai Magu hit a Chinese tourist who was taking pictures near the People’s Majlis. The police stated that a 19-year-old has been arrested following this accident.
