Sun Online has reached an impressive 100,000 likes on Facebook.
By 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, 18 September 2014, the Facebook page for sun.mv had received 100,090 likes.
CEO of Sun Media Group Sinaan Ali said that Sun Media Group’s objective is to gain public confidence and practice impartial journalism, and today’s milestone is the result of Maldivians’ confidence in Sun Online.
“Our aim, always, is to present important information as soon as possible. From the beginning, our target has been to become the news website that presents correct information, fastest,” said Sinaan.
Editor in Chief of Sun Online Ahmed Zahir (Hiriga) said that the landmark achievement by Sun Online over the past few weeks is the result of the hard work of Sun Team, and thanked everyone for their efforts.
“It is one thing to introduce a service, but the toughest and most arduous part really, is to uphold the standard and quality of that service. I am confident that Sun Team is equipped with the drive and boldness necessary to ensure this,” said Zahir.
Zahir also thanked all Maldivians and foreigners for their confidence in Sun Online.
To mark this milestone, Sun Media Group has decided to gift an Apple iPad Mini to the 100,000th person who liked the page on Facebook.
In addition to Facebook, Sun Online also shares its news on Twitter. Similarly, its English Edition has become a popular website among foreigners, for news related to Maldives.
