Car catches fire on Kadhdhoo-Fonadhoo causeway

A car en route to Fonadhoo from Kadhdhoo has caught fire on the causeway .

Sun Online reporter in Laamu Gan Ali Wafir said that the incident took place at around 6:00 p.m. on the causeway, close to Fonadhoo.

Police said that the car was completely destroyed in the fire.

The car was carrying two people, who jumped out and escaped unharmed.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, but eyewitnesses said that it seemed to start from the vehicle’s petrol tank.

Police said that the incident, reported at 6:20 p.m., is under investigation.
