President Xi meets with former President Gayoom

Visiting President of China Xi Jinping has met with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.

During the meeting held at the President’s Office, Gayoom noted the close relations between the two countries, and expressed his gratitude to President Xi and the government of China for their continued assistance to the Maldives.

Similarly, President Xi expressed his appreciation for the support lent to China during former President Gayoom’s tenure.

The meeting was also attended by Minister at the President’s Office Mohamed Hussein Shareef, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Adheeb Abdul Gafoor, Minister of State for Economic Development Ahmed Faris Maumoon, and Ambassador at Large Abdulla Hameed.
