Kooddoo Fisheries, Felivaru Fisheries abolished

Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives and Felivaru Fisheries Maldives have been abolished, and the operations of these two companies have been transferred to Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Limited (Mifco).

President of the Privatisation Board Mohamed Nizar said that following this change, the Board of Mifco has been reconstituted by President Yameen Abdul Gayoom.

This includes the appointment of Adhly Ismail as the Managing Director of Mifco, Hassan Rasheed as the Chairperson of Mifco, and Shuaulla Saeed, Abdulla Ahmed, and Ali Shareef Hussain as members of the Board of Mifco.

Prior to this, Hassan Rasheed and Shuaulla Saeed worked as members of the Boards of Felivaru Fisheries Maldives and Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives respectively.

The facilities at Gaafu Alifu Kooddoo and Lhaviyani Felivaru were operated under Mifco during the administration of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. The companies Kooddoo Fisheries Maldives and Felivaru Fisheries Maldives were established by former President Mohamed Nasheed after he took office in 2008.
