Sunken boat at commercial harbour removed from underwater

A boat that sank in the commercial harbour in Male', operated by Maldives Ports Limited (MPL), has been pulled back to the surface, an official of MPL told Sun Online today.

Media Coordinator at MPL Ahmed Athif said that the boat sank at around 1:30 a.m. while being loaded.

“The boat has been removed from underwater with assistance from MNDF. It’s still at the harbour,” said Athif.

He added that the incident is being investigated by the police.

Athif also said that the value of the damage suffered due to the sinking of the boat is yet undetermined, but no one was hurt in the incident.
