Man arrested on suspicion of abusing minor

A man has been arrested in Baarah in Haa Alifu Atoll, on suspicion of sexual abuse of an eight-year-old girl.

Police said that the 62-year-old man was arrested at around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The Dhidhdhoo Magistrate Court has given the suspect a detention period of 15 days.
