Burglars break into Maalhos Council office and take more than 100k in cash

Burglars have broken into the office building of A.A. Maalhos Island Council and taken more than a hundred thousand rufiyaa. The burglars broke a locker in which the money was kept. A police official said today that they had been investigating the incident.

Speaking to Sun, Ahmed Naseer, an official from the Maalhos Council, said today that the incident occurred Tuesday night, and that the locker was destroyed with an iron rod. He informed the exact amount in the locker as MRF103000.

During the incident, the office building was also subjected to vandalism. Some doors and windows were broken, according to Naseer.

A similar incident occurred in Maalhos two years ago, in which burglars broke into the Court Building in the island and took money out of a locker in the building.
