Mauroof elected chair, Nihan deputy chair of Security Services Committee

Kendhikulhudhoo MP Ali Mauroof and Vilimale’ MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik have been elected as Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson respectively, of the Parliamentary Committee on Security Services (241 Committee).

A committee member told Sun Online that both Mauroof and Nihan were elected with eight votes in favour, out of a total of 14 members.

The committee consists of seven Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) members, three Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) members, two Jumhooree Party (JP) members, one Adhaalath Party member, one Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) member, and one independent member.
