Indian Cultural Centre inaugurated in the Maldives

An Indian Cultural Centre is inaugurated today in the Maldives. The centre was inaugurated by Indian External Affairs Minister Shri S M Krishna and Maldivian Foreign Minister Hon. Ahmed Naseem. The High Commissioner of India to the Maldives, Shri DM Muley, was also present at the inauguration function.

The establishment of the centre was an important initiative of the Indian Government, in keeping with the high priority it attached to its bilateral relations with the Maldives. It will give India's cultural presence in the Maldives and will constitute an important dimension of the friendly partnership between the two countries.
