Boat runs aground near Ungoofaaru

A boat travelling from Male’ to Raa Alifushi has run aground near Raa Ungoofaaru.

Police said that the incident was reported at around 7:30 p.m., and all passengers have been taken to Ungoofaaru.

No one was hurt in the incident, except for a man who suffered cramps while in the water to refloat the boat.

He has been taken to the ICU at Ungoofaaru Regional Hospital, said the police.

Efforts to refloat ‘Fulhangi’ are ongoing by police with the assistance of the people of Ungoofaaru.
