Police arrest two children and four men; find beer cans and cash

Police have found large sums of money, narcotic drugs and beer cans; and arrested four men and two children.

The arrests were made during special operations against drugs conducted between 8:00 yesterday and 8:00 this morning.

Thirty people were checked, resulting in the arrest of two children below the age of eighteen and four people. Among the drugs found were seventeen pieces ‘sugar’ and four pieces ‘oil’. In addition, 48 cans of beer and large sums of money were also found.

Police said that the beer cans were found with a man traveling on a ferry from Hulhumale’ to Male’ last night. They did not disclose further details, indicating that the investigations are ongoing.

Police also arrested three people yesterday and the day before, for the possession of drugs. During those 24 hours, 38 people were checked.
