High Court, on Friday night, received four cases seeking to annul the results of four additional constituencies of the 22 March parliamentary election, all of which were rejected, High Court has said.

Registrar at High Court Ameen Faisal told Sun that the cases sought to annul the results of Kaashidhoo constituency, Gemanafushi constituency, Isdhoo constituency and Addu City Feydhoo constituency. The deadline to file election related cases expired at 11:15 p.m. on Friday night.

High Court has received 15 cases regarding the parliamentary election thus far. Hearings for some cases have concluded.

Maldives General Elections Act states that all election related cases must be filed at the High Court - the highest in election related cases - within a 15 day period from the announcement of the final results. The act also requires the court to conclude all election related cases within 30 days of announcement of the final results.
