Abdulla Mohamed Didi appointed CEO of NSPA

President Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Abdulla Mohamed Didi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of National Social Protection Agency (NSPA).

This follows former CEO of NSPA Thorig Ali Luthfy being appointed as the Deputy Minister of Transport.

Thorig was appointed Chairperson of Social Insurance Board and Chairperson of Aasandha by former President Dr Mohamed Waheed, and CEO of NSPA by President Yameen in December 2013. Prior to that, he held the post of Minister of State for Health.

Following Thorig’s appointment as Deputy Minister of Transport, President Yameen also appointed Asma Rasheed as Chairperson of Aasandha. Asma Rasheed ran for Maafannu South constituency on Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) ticket and won the seat at the Parliamentary Election held in March, leaving the post of Chairperson of Aasandha vacant.
