Large amounts of alcohol seized from house in Male

Police have on Sunday night confiscated a large amount of alcohol from a house in Male’.

The goods were confiscated from H. Rose House, first floor, during an operation by the police, based on information provided by a private individual.

According to the Police Media Official, 115 bottles and 48 cans of alcohol were discovered from a room in H. Rose House. However no arrests have been made in relation to the discovery, the official said.

Police drug intelligence, drug enforcement and drug operations departments are jointly investigating the case.

Alcohol is banned on populated islands in the Maldives.
