Case against Russian woman accused of smuggling cocaine sent to PG Office

A case has been sent to the Prosecutor General’s (PG) Office, against a Russian woman accused of bringing more than 2 kgs of cocaine into the Maldives.

Police found 2.5 kgs of cocaine in the luggage carried by Prutova Angelina, 25, who arrived as a tourist from Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 25 February.

An official of PG Office said that the case was received last week, and a decision will be made soon on whether to press charges.

Prutova Angelina, a makeup artist, has been accused by authorities of working with a large European cocaine trafficking network.
