The ‘track’ area and Alimas Carnival areas in Male’ are to be developed, says Male’ City Council.

The ‘track’ area will be developed for swimming, complete with changing rooms, showers and toilets. Permitted swimming times will be specified, and life guard service will also be provided.

The area will be systematically inspected, and certain health standards will be maintained.

In addition, a 1600-square-foot parking area as well as a children’s playground are to be built at Alimas Carnival area. The cafes and restaurants located in the Carnival will also remain in the area.

Male’ City Council Mayor Maizan Ali Manik (Alibe) said that public opinion is required on the development of this area. The public is welcome to submit their suggestions.
