High Court schedules Hithadhoo Medhu case for Sunday

High Court has scheduled the first hearing on the case filed by Hiyalee Mohamed Rasheed, requesting to annul the Parliamentary Election for Hithadhoo Medhu constituency, for Sunday.

Hiyalee Mohamed Rasheed contested Hithadhoo Medhu election on Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) ticket.

A senior official of High Court said that the hearing has been scheduled for 11:15 a.m. on Sunday.

Hithadhoo Medhu seat was won with 1,099 votes by Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) candidate former Brigadier General Ibrahim Mohamed Didi. Hiyalee Mohamed Rasheed received 898 votes, while independent candidate Hussain Salih received 554 votes.
