Broadcasters urged to protect presidents

Maldives Broadcast Commission has advised all broadcasters to uphold the honour and dignity of the current president and former presidents when they are addressed during broadcasts.

A circular sent to all broadcasters by Maldives Broadcast Commission today said that some stations use the names of the current and former presidents in manners which may damage their honor and dignity, which is against the broadcast regulation. Broadcasters were therefore advised against such practices.
